Curbside Pickup looks set to be the next big trend

Published on 21st October, 2020

Demand for delivered food has definitely not gone away during the pandemic, quite the opposite with food ordering and delivery services such as Just Eat reporting an increase in sales during these months.

This has given the industry confidence in opening their doors to takeaway and delivery which a lot had never experimented with before. Now with the new tier system being introduced many businesses are facing similar restrictions to those in March, but like before can remain open for delivery and takeaway.

With the functionality already in place businesses want ways they can improve on this service for both staff and customers. One thing that caught our attention was Five Guys new curbside pick-up which they have recently introduced at select restaurants.

What is Curbside Pickup?

Curbside pickup allows customers to order via Click & Collect and have their order delivered straight to their car upon arrival using the customer’s number plate. This system is great at reducing crowds gathering in and around the restaurant and gives customers the confidence that they won’t be in contact with other people.
