Meadow Vale Foods are proud to continue supporting the Open Heaven Church food bank service in Wednesbury, where this week, we donated over 100 bags of our quality chicken products.
On the back of a challenging two-year-period and with demand for emergency food parcels continuing to rise, we believe it’s now more important than ever to continue giving back to the community.
Open Heaven Church in Wednesbury, Walsall, is part of a national network of community food stores creating a sustainable and long-term solution to food poverty and helping the UK save money on food bills.
The popular food bank service has been working in the local community for more than 25 years and has supported over 160 families during the pandemic. We visited their unique pantry service in Wednesbury, which has proved a huge success in improving the livelihoods of families and vulnerable adults in isolation over the past two years.
James Woodcock, Church Trustee, described the popularity of our chicken products among members and was delighted with contribution made by Meadow Vale Foods:
“We regularly get asked when the next donation of chicken will occur and people regularly tell us how much their families enjoy having it with their meals, we are really thankful for Meadow Vale’s donations.”
Pantries go beyond the food bank model, creating a sustainable and long-term solution to food poverty. For a small weekly subscription of a £4.50, members at the Open Heaven Pantry can purchase a weekly food shop including fresh fruit and vegetables and family favourites… Now including our finest frozen foods!
Meadow Vale Foods are proud to have played a part in supporting the amazing volunteers and members at Open Heaven Church pantry. We look forward to continue working with many local food charities to help improve the health and wellbeing of the less fortunate in the communities that we serve.
