Meadow Vale Foods remembers Chris Harrison

In memory of Chris Harrison, Meadow Vale Foods held a sponsored Handicap Chase on 29 July 2022 at Bangor-on-Dee Races.

The Meadow Vale staff were joined by special guests, Chris’s wife Vicki and daughter Lucy, together with the Thailand Deemak International team, Pare, Pontip, Pakamon, and CFP Tum and daughter Mai. All attending this special event enjoyed an afternoon of racing and hospitality, with many memories shared.

Steve Wantling, Group Managing Director, MVH Ltd, welcomed all guests and shared a personal account of his time working alongside Chris Harrison:

"I had known Chris for over 30 years. Although initially we were just business colleagues, we soon grew to be close friends."

"We were one of the first importers of cooked poultry from Thailand. The partnership with Khun Tum has flourished over the years."

Steve went on to say, "We thank Vicky and her family, Tum and his family for joining us today so that we can celebrate and remember Chris as a colleague, partner, friend, and gentleman."

"Chris enjoyed many days racing and always had a smile on his face, perhaps only magnified when supporting his beloved Manchester United!"

"We all know what a challenging time the industry is going through, and Chris, I’m sure, would be very proud of the whole team and where we are today."

Chris Harrison, a beloved colleague and friend, sadly passed away on 16 January 2021 after contracting coronavirus.

As founding director of Deemak International, Chris played a pivotal role in the development of the business, developing the procurement and supply chain for MVH Group’s product range from Asia, in particular, Thailand.

Chris will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all his friends and colleagues at Meadow Vale Foods and Deemak International, together with the wider business community and poultry industry in Thailand and the UK.
