We are delighted to announce that our Homestyle Salt & Chilli Shredded Chicken and Original Vegan Chick’n Strips have been shortlisted in this year’s Quality Food Awards.

The Quality Food Awards are now in their 43rd year, and have become renowned in the food sector as one of the most prestigious awards to win in the industry today. The awards are judged solely by industry experts: food scientists, chefs, food writers, product developers, photographers, packaging experts, consultants and more.

After already receiving a gold award by the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) and striking silver in the Casual Dining innovation challenge, the Homestyle Salt & Chilli Shredded Chicken is now shortlisted for ‘Best Prepared Meat’ product at the Quality Food Awards 2022.

Salt & Chilli has become a hugely popular flavour profile in the Homestyle Shredded Chicken range, widely appreciated for its fiery home cooked appeal, quick cook times and high versatility across multiple menu applications.

Meanwhile, after a highly successful launch earlier this year, The Original Vegan Chick’n Strips will be in the running for ‘Best Vegan Product and Alternative’. Made with pea protein in our signature Homestyle coating, the strips have received hugely positive feedback from across the food sector for providing a great tasting and convenient meat-free alternative, cooked straight from the freezer in minutes.

Products from every sector are judged according to a long established ten point judging criteria, covering all aspects of the product from aroma, flavour, texture, value for money, ingredients, and above all else, taste. Being shortlisted for a Quality Food Award is therefore a mark that a product has been independently judged and is of an outstanding quality.

Developed for the street food, takeaway & delivery market, the Homestyle range has gone from strength to strength since it’s launch. The secret

The aim here is not to influence choice, but to offer an alternative runs parallel with our chicken for high quality taste, texture and appeal. We figured out what makes Meadow Vale chicken so delicious, and recreated it using pea protein.

High in protein and a great source of Iron, pea protein is a great fit for any diet, as it is naturally vegan and hypoallergenic. Like many of our tender chicken strips, the protein is hand cut then coated in our signature Meadow Vale batter, making it extremely difficult to separate the meat-free from the meat.
