Market Report September 2020

Firstly, we hope you are all keeping safe and well. I’m sure you’ll agree, with further COVID related changes being introduced this week, 2020 has thrown many challenges our way as we work together to help the food service industry get back on its feet.

From a service perspective, it has been challenging.

With some Food Service sectors recovering quickly and others still just starting to emerge from Lockdown, it’s clear it will be sometime before the sector settles in to the ‘New Normal’.

During April and May order volumes and forecasts plummeted. From June, with the boom in take-away and home delivery, we have experienced exceptional year on year growth on our highly popular core take-away lines.

Alongside extreme demand variation, COVID-19 has hit global supply across all food sectors and poultry is no exception.

Amongst this however, we must not lose sight of the challenges as we near the end of the BREXIT transition period with new rules and requirements coming into force on 1st January 2021. We have been working closely with our supply chain partners for over 2 years and have plans in place for stock arriving in 2021.

The team are working none stop to minimise the impact, while maintaining and growing our stock position. We will continue to provide regular updates, but please contact customer service or your sales contact for more information.
